I want to thank all the Lincolnwood residents who supported my campaign for Lincolnwood Trustee. We had an outstanding showing for a first-time run thanks to all the volunteers who made calls on our behalf, walked the neighborhoods with me, and supported us in any way they could. A special thank you to all the contributors and especially the voters. A heartfelt thank you to the outgoing Mayor of Lincolnwood Barry Bass for his mentorship and support during this campaign and especially for all he accomplished for our community.

I would like to wish my Assyrian family, friends,

I would like to wish my Assyrian family, friends, and community members a very happy and blessed Assyrian New Year 6771, Kha b-Nisan on this April 1st.

As Assyrians, we have heard of the hardships our ancestors and families had to deal with. We never imagined we would witness some of the same challenges in our lifetime.

From 2014-2017 an Assyrian genocide took place in Iraq and Syria and in 2020 the Assyrian community along with the world suffered many deaths due to the Covid pandemic. Just in the last few weeks, the Government of Iraq (GOI) awarded a contract to begin destroying the walls of the Assyrian city-state of Nineveh. The capital of ancient Assyria.

The Assyrian community in Lincolnwood has been directly affected by all of these tragedies which is vitally important that we come together again as a community in this new year and renew our vows to work together to ensure 6771 is a better year for all of us in Lincolnwood.

Despite differences in opinion, experience, geography, religious affiliation, and/or economic status our common heritage binds us and fortifies us in our re-dedication to our common destiny in the New Year.

May God bless you and keep you in his light and may he bless all Assyrians in the coming new year!
